Rihanna is set to appear on an imminent episode of ”Oprah’s Next Chapter” and the two ladies caught up with each other in Barbados over the weekend. Oprah tweeted pictures of the two leaving a resort on the island, writing, “@rihanna and I finishing up interview. What a refreshing surprise she is!” while Rihanna followed up by captioning a depiction of them in an SUV, writing, ”Look who popped up in my Hometown BARBADOS #topnotch.”

Rihanna appeared on Winfrey’s talk show back in January 2010, everywhere she performed Bob Marley’s classic “Redemption Song” to benefit the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Oprah also dedicated an entire episode of her talk show to the issue of domestic violence one year before in March 2009. The episode was in part inspired by the 2009 assault of Rihanna by then-boyfriend Chris Brown.

While Ri didn’t appear on the episode, Winfrey did have a message for young women who find themselves in abusive relationships. “If you go back with a man who hits you, it’s because you don’t reckon you’re creditable of being with a man who won’t,” Winfrey said all through the episode. “I’ve said before, ‘Like doesn’t hurt, and if a man hits you once, he will hit you again.’ “

Given all the headlines that Rihanna has found herself in recently, including reconnecting with Brown on several tracks earlier this year and having her name tossed around as one of the reasons why Drake and Breezy got into a fight last week in New York City, the singer and the talk-show host should have some fascinating talking points.

In addendum to her newly announced interview with Winfrey, Rihanna also made headlines on Monday thanks to her strain-new tattoo. Over the weekend, she tweeted out a photo of her new ankle tattoo. The tat is that of a falcon shaped to some extent like a handgun. “Falcon: a light that shines in the darkness! Never close their eyes all through sleep,” she tweeted on Saturday. It joins her many, many tattoos, several of which are really gun images.
